Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Jake Nidenberg is responsible for overseeing BookNook's financial processes and success, from day-to-day cash management and reporting to big picture strategy and capital allocation.  As a business partner to other key stakeholders, his goal is to provide clear and concise data-driven insights so that the team is well-informed when making important business decisions - able to focus on impact as well as fiscal responsibility. 

Jake has 8+ years of experience as a finance, investment and development professional.  Before joining BookNook, Jake was pursuing his passion for food, serving as CFO of Urbanspace, an early-stage NYC-based foodhall operator and fast casual brand incubator.  Prior to Urbanspace, Jake served as a Vice President at Spring Education Group – the largest PK-12 independent school operator in the U.S. with more than 200 schools across 19 states.  While at Spring, Jake oversaw all aspects of finance, M&A and business development with a focus on capital raising, growth strategy, new school acquisitions and greenfield developments.  Before Spring, Jake started his career in the leveraged finance group at Macquarie Capital, where he helped private equity clients execute buyout, add-on and recapitalization transactions for their portfolio companies. 

Jake graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College with degrees in both math and economics.  As a former member of Middlebury's men’s basketball team, he continues to support student athletes today as a board member of the non-profit Brooklyn Youth Sports Club.  Jake lives in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY, and enjoys reading, traveling and cooking for family and friends.
